My love for food and wine started early. Some of my earliest memories are in my grandmother’s kitchen — sitting with her while she cooked, a glass of wine somewhere nearby, something simmering on the stove. I remember farm stands, searching for the right ingredients, watching people gather around a table and settle in. That feeling stayed with me.

 

I grew up in Colorado and eventually found my way into restaurants. I was drawn to the wine programs almost immediately — not just the bottles themselves, but the way a single wine could shift a meal, a conversation, a night. What started on the floor turned into more than twenty years working across this business. I’ve been on the supplier side, worked closely with distributors across the country, and spent eight years in New York with one of the leading importers and distributors in the industry. Those years were formative. I learned how wine actually moves — how it’s sourced, priced, sold, and supported — and who makes it all work.

 

LeMieux Wine Co. is an independent importer and distributor serving the Michigan market. We work directly with producers around the world and represent their wines to restaurants and retailers throughout the state, including many of the most thoughtful and respected programs in Michigan. The heart of this company is the people we represent — the growers who farm the vineyards, make decisions vintage by vintage, and come back every year regardless of the outcome. Our role is straightforward: represent them well - tell their story and ensure their wines end up with people who understand what they are.
